Touchstone
TOUCHSTONE: 1603 MacKay Avenue, North Vancouver, BC Canada
Ledingham McAllister begins with a new vision for a community. A vision inspired by the landscape and enhanced by an understanding of what makes a vibrant community. This is Touchstone. With breathtaking views of mountains, forests, the Lions' Gate Bridge and city skylines, North Vancouver is the perfect place to call home. Touchstone is where the vibrancy of Marine Drive meets the soothing ambience of the North Shore's pristine salmon bearing MacKay Creek and Heywood Park.
Touchstone offers residents unparalleled beauty and a diversity of amenities. The community is set amongst a wealth of established local and city amenities, first-rate shopping, restaurants, transit, hiking trails, Ski Mountains and attractions such as Lonsdale Quay. A limited collection of one bedroom, two bedroom and two bedroom plus den homes are situated above 14,000 sq. ft. of commercial space. Designed for modern living, such features as open-concept living, elegant fixtures, chef -inspired kitchens and private decks expand your living space. Some residents of Touchstone will enjoy large patios overlooking a private podium garden. Touchstone is a refreshing design many will admire, but only a few will have the opportunity to call home. Touchstone Features:
The artist's rendering of the Touchstone building (top of the page) puts the viewer in Heywood Park, across MacKay Avenue from the building. It shows the residents' entrance and illustrates the tempering of the eventual building's horizontal quality with vertical elements and the topping off of the building with overheight glazing. Touchstone is the latest new-home project locally in which James Hardie fibre-cement siding will clad the exteriors. Right, in the Touchstone apartments, vertical window coverings will hide sliding doors and horizontal blinds will hide windows. The arrangement duplicates the intersection of horizontal and vertical surfaces and planes on the building's exterior.
